Well for Christmas the Fat Man in red brought me a snorkel. I'd been a good boy all year, so I got an Airtec snorkel for a 100 Series Landcruiser. This is the same as what TroyXT and BenWarn have on their Foresters.
Step 1: Find someone with more experience than myself... TroyXT.
Step 2: Take the side guard off (Correction that's about step 4... due to having to take the Bullbar off, take out the grill and headlight to get to the necessary bolts to remove the side guard).
Step 3: Attach the template (for a Landcruiser) and take a deep breath... then drill the hole before thinking again.
The holesaw didn't work. So the hole was cut using a drill and playing 'join the dots' with the angle grinder.
The big gaping hole (No turning back now).
Step 4: Check the hole for size
Step 5: Drill the remaining holes to hold the snorkel in place and adjust to suit.
Step 6: Rust Proofing
Go to three different Bunnings to find some 50mm clear hose and heat to allow fitment.
Step 7: Fit everthing into place and bolt it all up.
Step 8: Put the car back together.
Step 9: Show off the end result.
Thanks again to TroyXT for all his help, and also to OutbackBen for his assistance too.
Regards,
Joel
