Hi All,

As title suggets, I'm endeavouring to upgrade the factory radio to a bluetooth and Apple car play compatible head unit but all the standard dimensions for theses are 7" /178cm installation width. The problem is that the factory radio is only 172cm width which allows the lovely little push and pop out cup holder to livel alongside it. I use this and am not willing to relinquish it. Has anyone here found a solution, done a work-around that allows aftermarket head unit and retaining the cup holder.
Cheers

get the 2 din housing to replace the top cubby/clock so no need to go without your cupholder. I did this years ago and it's worth the price IMO for the benefits.
I use a Joying 2 Din 7inch android touchscreen. my 2005 SG now has:
bluetooth, front and rear dashcam, google maps , any app on playstore - Torque with bluetooth OBD scanner, Waze , Geotracker for offline breadcrumb map
It is literally one of the best mods for the SG.

Thanks for your reply. I've come up with a solution that suits me. I want to retain the period factory dash, no pods etc and keep my cup holder, so I've gone for a single DIN Kenwood unit with bluetooth, inbuilt mic for streaming music, phone calls and USB and aux input.

Cheers
