What have you done to your car today?

Looks like I`ll be up for pads soon!!!
SG and SH can`t be too much different.
Totally different. Particularly between the automatic and manual.
Not so much different mechanically, but in how the car uses them.

The SG had no stability control (here in Oz, at least). As Kevin says, this has a fairly large impact on how the brakes wear.

Mundane but necessary.
Gave old faithful a new set of front and rear wiper blade rubbers, pretty blue silicone ones to (almost) match the paint colour.
Can`t remember the last time I replaced them, must be at least 10 years.

Had the CVT fluid replaced on my MY15 Outback, and had the rotors machined to get rid of the noise after the rear brake pads were replaced couples of months ago.

.....since installing the new engine 2 years ago I have had periodic "check engine light" activations that the car's computer detects as an"over fuelling" issue. Considering that the vehicle is at almost 400,000 kms, I have decided to replace the oxygen sensors and have purchased both the pre cat, and post cat sensors. Also, one of the front wheel hubs is "growling", so there are now 2 new front wheel hubs on the way to me also. All up, this means that the Suby will be "in dry dock" for a day or two, whilst we fit he new parts. The sensors have already arrived, so I'm just waiting on the hubs.

The front wheel hubs have arrived - I've done all wheel hubs on my Landrover D2 so generally speaking the task is not new to me - but I have never done Suby wheel hubs before but I'm expecting that it'll be a straight forward job - barring complications of course. Question: has anyone on the forum fitted new hubs to a 2010 Forester? and do the wheel speed sensors have to be uninstalled before starting on the hub removal / replacement?

Not this little black duck.

Our 2009Y needs new head gaskets though ... But it's only done about 135K kms.

Brakes twice (once major), and a few other things.

You win some, lose some.

Our 2006 Forester has never had anything of any significance done to it, at roughly the same mileage.

Well ! - I decided that I can't wait any longer - I NEED A TOW BAR! - ( psst! - I have had the 2010 SH Forester from new 😣 )
So off to the local car wreckers yard and 1 1/2 hours later I left with a genuine Subaru / Hayman Resse bar and 50mm hitch, and, a genuine plug-in trailer wiring harness, and all for just AU$47 total. Having to disassemble the rear of the donor vehicle in the wrecking yard to free the tow bar actually helped immensely when it came to disassembly and installation on my Suby.
Happy days .........

I cannot imagine having any car without a towbar. The last time I had one was in about 1969.

I had a tow bar on our 2003 Forester - 2013 & 2016 Honda CRV's, but never had one on our 2021 Honda HRV or our current 2023 ZRV.
In all the time that I haven't had a tow bar, I can recall 2 x times where I have needed one.

Mine was getting grumpy too, especially early mornings. I don't think thay liked being woken up that early to go to work  so I decided to renew the battery keys also. Actually I did both of them. :raz:

OMG, took less than a full day (Sans K & N ), the result is.... OMG OMG OMG LOL FULLY SIK!

For a 2.5 N/A, its going to freak people out.

PS - If it makes me sound like a loser then fair enough, least the car is raised not lowered. The garage couldnt get over my bars though, very impressed. Took the video, had the camerain the wrong place wich dosent do it justice, still nice and beefy though.

a towbar is a must have for me. Scored this aluminium tray for $100 which came in handy for our camping trip without having to tow a full trailer. When the car was moving it's fine but at idle the heat from the exhaust singed the ratchet strap. Lucky I found out before it burnt all the way through.

Bought new batteries for all our keys.

Old batteries were 3.160v, nominal 3v.

New batteries are 3.294v, nominal 3v.

I can't quite work out why the old batteries would not work the central locking??
