i'm up for rego and as usual the green slip reminder comes way before rego papers and not to my surprise it's gone up nearly $100 bucks. so i've been looking around and the cheapest is $412 and $645 the dearest. i've only tried 5 different mobs. look'n for other insurer's to try for a better deal.

Eden I'm insured with AAMI for both my CTP & Full Comp.
When my CTP came due in Dec 08 it was $369.
If I was to pay for it today (just got an online quote 5 mins ago) it would be $412.
IE it's up $43 on last year.

Hope this helps. :)

With price rises like these, I dont know who's worse....Insurance companies or Banks. :furious::furious:
And on top of all these price hikes, they still cry poor. :furious: :mob: :furious:

Hey ^ look at that ^ it won't stay in upper case as entered

There is an online comparison thingy.
just use that and see who is cheapest.

And if you think they are bad for a car, try for a motorbike.
Easy to be over $500 - a lot when you consider its suppose to cover damage you do to other road users!

Not always accurate, but a good place to start. I think for me they said GIO was cheapest, but it worked out to be QBE.

see i used the online quote for QBE and that online thingy. they were both over $600. i can't understand how 1 company can be $400ish and another over $600ish. what gives? the worst was NRMA. $642. they suck

Fascinating how an Outback premium costs more than a WRX.

i think its on where you live too. if you had a rexy in Rosebay they would smash you on the premium. there's heaps of old sh1tty drivers in RoseBay. most can't see 10 meters in front of them let alone over the steering wheel :rolleyessarcastic:

There is little consistency. Being CTP, it should not matter where you live- because who knows where you are going to drive? But they still ask. I cannot figure it out.

I totally agree mate. :yell:
But that is typical of an insurance company. :furious:
They'll do anything to jack up their prices. :furious: :yell: :yell: :furious:

i would have thought where is a greater amount of traffic and recorded accidents it's a bigger risk hence a bigger premium? just like a normal 3rd party? on some online quotes they even asked if the car was garaged? now that i don't get
