Lift Pattern (DIY Lift Kit Information)

Anyone have template or at least numbers for outback BP front lift spacer. Here i am thought it will be same as BH outback. Nop they made those larger. So question is how much larger.
Most important what diameter tube i need .
In couple days i will measure that myself but mayne someone have full template. That would be nice

Hey i was wondering what offset is needed on the front and rear of an sg forester for a 2 inch lift. And in the front is there any offset for caster or is it just for camber. Sorry for bringing up an old thread.

Hi @Matt93851! I think you'll find that information is considered pretty proprietary by lift manufacturers...
To get it right, you'd probably be best off purchasing a lift kit from a reputable manufacturer and replicating it.
I've heard rumours that this has been done by other possibly less reputable lift manufacturers, but have no facts to base this on. ;)

Personally considering the cost of labour & parts, I think you'd be better off just buying a high quality Australian designed and manufactured kit. Then you'd end up with exactly what you need for a very reasonable price, considering the quality.

Great thread! I am still learning so I am trying to confirm something. If I can use SG struts on my 99 legacy, Am i correct that the SG template will work? I often overthink things and mix myself up, good old head injuries lol....thanks.

95-99 Legacy or Outback, and 98-08 Forester share the same strut bolt patterns, both top and bottom

Thank you everyone for all this information new to this site but building an 03 forester i must have done something wrong and ended up with a 4 inch lift like it so much going to continue on this path and stay with it thanks again

Welcome @Bobwmt - am interested to know how you lifted 4" e.g. was it a combination of strut plus body lift?

Lol..sounds like an error that is good for once!

I’ve just been mocking things up with just top spacers that I made maybe it will settle when I actually build them but with the 4 inches my plan was to build sub frame spacers to correct cv angle I’m not much of a planner just build it kind of guy so who knows wheee is ends up

Tried to add pictures but it will not load them I’ll see what I can do to get some pictures

What message do you get? If they are too large they will need to be resized.

Why not just upload pics to some site and then just share link. Like imgur. I use that for all my pics to all forums. And easiest to do that straight from phone

I sent them to myself on android, it resized them automatically.

Got on picture to go
