The Grey Fox.

G'day all, I thOught I'd start a build thread just to just to prevent my progress posts from stinking up the forum.

For those that dont know I picked up a 2Oo7 xs forester in Sydney and have driven it back to Perth, picking up and fitting eBay gold along the way.

I've arrived home to my building site of a home (floor sanding and painting) and can't even see, let alone repair my PC so you will have to wait for pictures.

So far in the 2 weeks since we met I've added a bullbar, sump guard, diff guard, UHF, GPS, engle, rooftop tent, awning and strutbrace.

Next on the list are headers, 1" blocks, rear sway bar/links/disconnects, driving lights, ATs, hitch, real low range, stereo gear and extra 12V sockets.

I'd also like to install the factory climate control or rig up a throttle position A/C cutout and remove the hill hold as advised.

Pics and reviews of the gear to come.

Cheers,

Seanan.

Glad all are OK. Shows that one can trip over, even if only a shopping pram!

Looks like a ripper, mate.

Are you coming back via Melbourne? If so, will you have time for a catchup for coffee?

Happy no injuries for sure! Congrats on the new vehicle.

Home safe and sound with the new Grey Fox.

No Victorian leg sorry RB.

When I revive my years dead photobucket account I'll throw up some pics

Good to hear that all went well, ST.

Sorry you couldn't make it to Melbourne.

Hope you're not too heavy footed with the new turbo ... ;) ;)

Sydney to Perth via Cataract Dam 4101km
Fuel use (mostly 98 octane but average of 96) 358L
Average L/100km 8.74L/100km
Total fuel cost $521
Total fuel cost less tax (salary sacrifice) $323

No roof racks, Tyres at 38/36psi

I'll buy back the wreck when it comes up for auction.

It has all the trims that need replacing in the new one due to scuffing or holes for cargo barrier.

It also has:

SubaX Bullbar - top bars damaged, but I don't really need that bit
Projector HID headlights - slightly better than the factory reflector ones
Xbred diff guard
Lift Kit
Koni/Kings suspension - 3/4 of it anyway
Towbar
Strut brace
Rear bumper with LED reverse lights
A3 forged wheels and ATs
Dual range box and console
Engine and reflashed ECU - the perfect upgrade for my beetle
Spare driveshafts
Spare hubs - having them repaired and ready to be fitted is great.

There's at least $3000 in value to me there.
I'll be very happy if I can get it for under $1500.
