I used to have the Urethane RA guards on my previous Forester. But on my current Forester, I went for the Basic RA flaps. The Urethane ones were great quality, but much too shiny for my taste. I mean, if I wanted that level of Bling, I would just get chrome mud flaps!
So even though I "downgraded" to the Basic ones, I am much happier with the matte look, and the performance has been just fine.
Bottom line: Unless you are an actual rally racer and/or you live in a permafrost climate, I highly recommend the RallyArmor Basic flaps (or Universal if there isn't a Basic specifically for your Subaru) over the significantly more expensive Urethane flaps.
i totally agree. i took them on the slick clay roads here right after it rained yesterday. 2 inches of mud caked to the flaps, but none on the car. best purchase i have made for so little.
