After a year and a half, I finally started fitting a set of Brembos I’ve rebuilt (yes, I know the caliper’s upside down. This was a test-fit after a long day…) It began, a lifetime ago, with the requisite search for 17” wheels that will clear Brembo four-pots. I eventually found a set of WRX BBSs and got them blasted and refurbished. Then, the long vigil looking for rear 190mm backing plates from a JDM STI Legacy, which I eventually scored on Japanese auction (I couldn’t face the thought of taking a grinder to the OEM backing plates). Then finding a set of Brembos, pulling them apart, more soda blasting and powder coating, sourcing new pistons, seals, bleeders, banjo bolts ans shims, By then, selling a kidney to buy STI street pads seemed like pure common sense. Bleeding the system tomorrow… these anchors had better be bloody good…

Method and braid make 16” wheels that clear the brembos, if you want more sidewall

Thanks, that worth knowing - we mostly just do backroad touring, but I’ve toyed with the idea of having another wheel set with ATRs on it. Cheers…
