Old Farts Club

Get stuck into the Apple Cider Vinegar with Mother (1 - 2 Tablespoons) in a glass of water.
People may laugh, but it bloody well takes the pain away for me.
Truss Tomatoes are my nemesis, I strictly eat Roma tomatoes, I don't like the tasteless Gourmet variety.
Rhubarb is my downfall. I LOVE the stuff but it hates me. Cooked in microwave, no water added, until soft with half a chopped up orange, some x`tallised ginger, a spoon or two of honey and perhaps lemon peel.........
Absolutely beautiful.....
I think an overindulgence in any citrus can also send me off in agony too. Strangely a few wines are ok and tomatoes, which I also enjoy, seem ok too. I agree Romas are really tasty, especially when semi dried with garlic and balsamic garnished with a basil leaf.

Oranges give me Diarrhea, stems back to my pre-teenage days when I couldn't stop eating the neighbours oranges hanging over our fence, that was despite having our own Washington Navel and Valencia trees.

I love apple & rhubarb, I might have to give your recipe a whirl one day. Just have to be prepared to have the s***s for a day or two. :lol1:

^ @subyroo You ought to try having no large intestine ...

Tend to know where the nearest dunny is, at all times.

I've gotten pretty used to it. The operation was in 2001.

Since then, I have regular gastroscopies and colonoscopies. The bowel prep is designed for people with large intestines. I call it "the gift that keeps on giving"! Usually works for about a week after the procedure has been done.

Better than being dead, but ... ;) .

Have a rough idea of what you go through, my wife has had a Gastric Bypass op and I have a Gastric Lapband.
We both have to choose carefully when dining out. If something doesn't go down with the Gastric Lapband it tends to come back like a fire hose on steroids.
So all 3 of us need to know the location of the nearest toilet. 👍 🙂

I hate to gloat but my plumbing always has behaved and functioned well......or so it seems.
I consider myself extremely fortunate.
My heart ain`t fantastic though but medical science is a wonderful thing.

I had a CT Scan last Friday for a Coronary Artery Calcium Score, the result came back as 63% percentile. My GP said it's not bad enough to race me off to hospital for surgery, and it's not good enough to say on your way, you have nothing to worry about.
I now have an appointment with my Cardiac Specialist on 02 June 2022 to find out if he wants to do more tests or an Angiogram.

It`s all in your genes methinks. I cast my mind back to my father`s last few years. He seemed to exhibit the same symptoms as I did just before I was diagnosed as having AF about 8 years ago. Not a lot known about that in the 1960`s compared to now. He`d possibly have got to more than his 70 years if there was. I am , now at my tender age, in much better shape than he was at the age he achieved.

Yep, the alternative is not desirable at all.

SWMBO's was 0.5% chance of an adverse event/blockage, which was great. She also has a strong familial history of arterial disease, so good to hear.

Best of luck with your cardiologist, Peter.
