got held up big time by other stuff but finally getting to install my torq locker, forgot to mark my ring gear before i took it off the diff though, any one know how big a deal it is?

edit: just to clarify talking about marking the ring gear so that when you put it back on the diff you line up the all the holes the same way they were when you took it off, as opposed to like rotated three holes clockwise or something.

It won’t matter. Just make sure the bolts are correctly torqued to spec ;)

phew, thank goodness.

I was trying to figure out why it would matter and unless things were warping due to heat, I don't see how it could.
Wasn't game to be the first one to suggest it wouldn't though. :D

With diffs the most important thing before preload and backlash is that the ring gear and the pinion shaft remain as a pair.

If you mix different ring and pinion sets together, you’ll open up a whole can of worms, starting at diff noise and probably ending in broken gears.

The FSM torque specs for the ring gear bolts is 62Nm or 44.6ft-lb.

I sure am glad, wasn't really looking forward to learning how to set backlash. Thanks for the help y'all.
