Well guys I took some time off work, well a week. So did my mate Dave and we are going to go upnorth for a 5 days or so. Heading from Geraldtom upto Coral Bay, then Exmouth and around to the Cape Range national Park.
We are taking my Foz, and will be towing my tinny (12foot boat). So it should be a good trip and I should get heaps of photos and have a great time :raspberry:

Plan to both camp and stay in a few caravan parks. I can't wait to check out the Ningaloo Reef, go snorkeling, diving and abit of fishing if I can

Might also do the Yardie Creek Crossing, aslong as the tide isn't high. Im willing to go upto the top of the wheel arches deep but anymore and well I will be making an insurance claim for a new car due to hydolocking and excessing salt water damage

Here is Adrian, who some of you might know from Western Australia and AuSubaru doing the yardie creek crossing in his Foz GT.

The trip will be abit long for me as I have to do all the driving (Dave can't drive) but should be heaps of fun. Im really looking forward to it and the nice warm weather up there. I have made sure the Foz is in good condition, especially for towing and since it will be 35c+ degrees.

Heading off a week from tomorrow (Sunday).

Sounds like you're having a great time.

Stay safe guys. Looking forward to hearing all about it once you return :)

Enjoy, take lots of pics & watch out for the stupid roo's ..... though living in Gerro you should be well aware of them, I remember when I was your age heading back up to Port Hedland and slowing for one, it jumped across my newly painted bonnet leaving a couple of nice scratches *%$#*@^

From your place to Ningaloo is just an afternoon drive, we used to do the Headland to Perth run regularly just for something to do on the weekend, leave work Fri arvo, get to the city Sat morning, sleep for a few hours, do bogan laps in the city back when the streets were all open, sleep for a few hours then drive back all day Sunday ready for work Mon morning, no softcock air con, power steering, cruise or electric windows either, just a thumping great V8 under the bonnet.

Sounds great! I want to get over there and drive the coast one day!

Not really any coast to see, the majority of the n/w highway is well inland and you need to divert off it sometimes quite a way before you'll see water, I haven't done it for years but from memory there isn't a spot anywhere between Perth & Broome that you'll actually see the coast while driving.

True but worth heading towards the ocean to places like Coral Bay, Shark Bay, Kalbarri, etc... there are some amazing sites to see.
Don't bother with Canarvon though

I am abit worried because of the roos especially not having a bull/roo bar and the lack of braking power while towing. But i'll just take it easy and should be alright. I have done heaps of country driving so I know all about them. Plan to leave Geraldton at 4am so until about 7.30am will just take it slowly.

Worst time for them too, I've destroyed 2 cars and damaged a few more hitting them.....always past Carnarvon, one car was my mates 3 week old Cortina, I hit the monster at about 130kph at 3 in the morning while I was filling a cigarette lighter with gas hahaha looked up and BAM!!!!!!!

Its going to be hard not being on here and AuSubaru while im gone but i will live :raspberry:
Heading off early tomorrow morning and packing today. Will be posting a hopefully exciting trip report when I return next weekend.
Will have heaps of photos too  I don't think it will hold up against Dulagarl's trip report though
