Hall's Peak NSW in Outback?

Sorry jmsyd, I have not been there. My cousin lives out that way but she drives a Troopie and says everything is easy.

This bit concerns me:
Because the final 5km stretch is challenging, high clearance low-range 4WD vehicles (not SUVs) are required.
I've been up trails that I'd classify as challenging, requiring a high clearance low range 4WD vehicle, in my forester. I wouldn't have made them without the extra 2"+ I have with my lift kit & low range. I would have preferred a lower low range, but that's a way off yet.

A stock outback definitely wouldn't have made these trails, regardless of who was behind the wheel, just not enough clearance.

It's worth a try though, what could go wrong that a good supply of parts won't fix..?

I think you should look out some tracks close to home (is Halls Peak close to home?) that have the same sort of classification and try them first, to see what the vehicle (and the driver) is comfortable with.
