EA82 oil in intake

Hi all.

Just wondering on your thoughts about my EA82 MPFI. It was but blowing a crazy amount of smoke and also on inspection the intake had lots of oil around the air filter and mass airflow sensor was cover in oil. I thought it was the rings for the reason it was blowing smoke but doesnt explain all the intake oil???? Any thoughts.

Several things to look into:

- over filling of oil
- old dodgy PCV (crankcase ventilation valve)
- blowby over-pressurising the crankcase
- running oil that's too light??

How many k's on the engine and what is the typical type of useage does it see?
