I have looked around on the forum for recommendations on steel rims for SG Forester and searched online stores but have not succeeded. I'm not a big fan of the stock SG steelies and want some mean looking steelies.

Is it possible to have a tyre store have the rims custom drilled for the 5x100 stud pattern?

I could go with alloys if there are no steelies but would rather steel rims.

Leaving the legalities aside, it's not just a case of drilling holes. You will need to taper them as well. Then you will need to look at the legalities and insurance implications

On an L series?

Factory alloys are plenty strong enough and there are many quality aftermarket options.

^ but will they fit over the brake calipers of an SG without any modifications?

My search for those wheels for a 2003 SG results in "Sorry, no wheel has been found available for your vehicle. Please call our wheel specialists on 1800 FOR WHEELS to discuss other options."

Yes Dynamics fit over SG calipers, afaik with no modification. This is with a SubieLiftOz 4.5" Monster lift kit, [FONT=&quot]30x9.5r15 Silverstone AT117 tyres on 15x8 Dynamics

Looks great however very obviously illegal (at least without extended wheel arch flares?)

Yeah 30" tyres probably not legal either lol. These flares were custom made, he did a brilliant job, looks awesome & strong enough to stand on!!

^ agreed
I preferred the look without the flares

Need help again as Dynamic D's are not working. Trying to see if Dynamic can do custom offset on the Dynamic D wheels but need to wait for a reply from them. Other possible option is Audi Pepperpots, (1996-1003) does the rim fit over the Forester brake calipers without modification? Would need center bore spacer and different lugs or adapters for those rims to work.
Any other rims with the classic steel rim look that will fit and are within a reasonable offset? Need to be 15" as the tyre shop is holding tyres for me that are for 15" rims and the manager really doesn't want to see this Forester at his store anymore if it keeps going back and having tyres not fit.

How are they not working? 0 offset will make them sit out a bit & it increases the rubbing on full lock.

There are lots of other choices. Popular 15” alloy wheels are KMC Bully KM708, Motegi MR139, Konig Control, OX Wheels OX817, Black Rhino Boxer, Method MR502 or 501, Sparco Terra, Team Dynamics Pro Rally, etc.
Personally, I would go for the KMC Bully or Motegi, both look great & are reasonably priced here

It's pretty easy to fix the rubbing for your size tyres. You will need to trim the plastic covering the pinch weld & probably have to hammer flat the weld a bit too (don't grind it off, just hammer it flat). You've only got 215s (27.7") tyres so it shouldn't need much. Attached is a photo of what was done on a SH Forester with 225/70/16 (same as 225/75/15).
