There's no reason a wheel won't rotate. Worst case scenario is it's caught in a rut between 2 rocks. It will still rotate, it just needs more force to do so. But there are 3 other wheels to help that...

I recommend using a diff plug tool not the 1/2" drive on a breaker bar. This is 12.5mm & the plug is 13mm, doesn't sound like much but these are often seized on & using the wrong size just damages...

Yes this is correct. The number is the engine size & is used for all models of Subaru with H6 & FA/FB engines & diesel engines using letters.

5 = 2.0L
6 = 2.2L except in the US where it also is...
